Fernando Ruiz Coman

Chemical Technician graduated from E.E.S.T N°4: “Dr. E. Longobardi” of Avellaneda (2016). Since 2015, I had decided to study Materials Engineering at the Instituto Sabato. For this, I took two and a half years of Chemical Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires (2017-2019). Finally, I entered the Instituto Sabato in August 2019 and after the first semester, I did my first internships in February under the direction of the best, unique, and unparalleled internship director that the Instituto Sabato has had and may have, Dr. Santiago Poklepovich Caride, where he shared all his knowledge about Au nanoparticles and the LSPR effect. In February 2022, after two years of virtual classes, I returned to Qnano to do the second internship with Dr. Poklepovich Caride. At this stage, with more training and close to finishing my degree, it helped me learn other things outside of science and related to the synthesis of Au nanoparticles and helped me decide where to do my final project. In January 2023, I started my final project in Materials Engineering under the direction of Drs. Paula Angelomé and Andrea Bordoni. My work consists of creating mesoporous films on metallic substrates with the idea of using them as corrosion protectors. At the same time, I am working on creating thin mesoporous films using the Spray method. During September 2023 and December of the following year, I completed my master's degree in Materials Science and Technology at the Instituto Sabato, continuing with the same research topic. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Science and Technology with a mention in Materials, under the direction of Dr. Paula Angelomé, working on coatings of thin mesoporous films by spraying.
